Linspire releases free LiveCD of "Five-0"
Mar. 29, 2005
A DesktopLinux.com reader informs us that Linspire has released a free LiveCD edition of Linspire 5.0 through BitTorrent. The LiveCD edition cannot be installed permanently on a system's hard drive, but it is useful for rescue and demonstration purposes.
The Linspire "Five-0" desktop Linux distribution was released by the company earlier this month. Included with the new version are the latest versions of several well-known open-source applications, including the OpenOffice productivity suite, Lsongs Music Manager and Lphoto Photo Manager, RealPlayer 10, and Lassist Suite, and a contact and email manager. In addition, the latest Linspire disribution comes with expanded support for popular file formats, including .mp3, .doc, and .pdf, among others.
