Open Clip Art Library version 0.11 is released
Mar. 29, 2005
Version 0.11 of the Open Clip Art Library is now available for download. The online package consists of 2896 images submitted by over 200 artists from around the world. Examples of some of the newly added clip art include images of food, computer-related items, and even a little boombox. In addition to the version 0.11 package, each clip art file can now be located using a new Keyword Search Tool.
According to the project, the Open Clip Art Library is growing rapidly thanks to increasing numbers of submissions from artists. Currently, the Open Clip Art Library project is encouraging submissions of Spring-related clip art.
The project is also soliciting volunteers to assist with building tools to process the growing repository. Planned new features include capturing and tracking of clip art requests, user account management, adding WebDAV support, and developing wizards to aid in composition.
The Open Clip Art Library and tools are available for download at the following URLs:
Library version 0.11 tar.bz2 file
Library version 0.11 tar.gz file
Library version 0.11 zip file
Tools version 0.11 zip file
The Open Clip Art Library project states that it aims to create an archive of clip art that can be used freely for any use. All graphics submitted to the project are placed into the Public Domain according to the Creative Commons Public Domain Declaration, it says.
